He's just a regular guy who happened to be given a lot of money to do a job he's not comfortable doing. A mutant might not see it that way, but Jiro is more than adamant about the matter - at least to himself. ------------------------------------------------- PERSONALITY Jiro can be a bit self-sacrificing at times. He generally puts the needs of others before his own, and even as a child he'd give up his toys - even to a bully - just so another child would have something to play with. If someone comes to him these days, he'll put everything down just to help. He takes this part of himself very seriously, and while he does tend to his own needs (mostly), it can be difficult for him to separate the needs of others with his own. Unfortunately, this means that he can be rather naive at times, which means that it's often easy for others to take advantage of him without Jiro realizing it. On the other side of things, Jiro has an issue with being impossibly impulsive. He tends to rush into things and situations without properly thinking through all possibilities and options, and this often leads to him reaching the wrong conclusion or, worse yet, ending up in an embarrassing moment with no way to bow out gracefully. He's a bit dim and clueless, and while he does have moments where he's more intelligent than usual, they don't have the opportunity to shine as often. ------------------------------------------------- HISTORY Jiro had a relatively uneventful childhood. He was born into a working class family, with a teacher for a mother and a salary man for a father. To say that there was an emphasis placed on education is an understatement - low grades were not acceptable, and anything less than perfect was frowned upon. Jiro wasn't always the best in his classes, but he mustered up the grades his parents wanted, which allowed him to get into a good school for University. After finishing his primary education, Jiro attended college courses at a University to be a doctor. It wasnt really what he wanted - he was better at other things, like boxing, working out, spending time with friends. When he decided to leave school, his parents were livid and disowned him (to this day, they still don't speak). It was only by the grace of some unseen entity that he was able to get a job working at the gym he attended. Which was fine with him. He spent plenty of time there as it was, why not work there as well? With an apartment that resided over the gym, he was even close enough to come in when he was needed. Which was often enough. He was popular among the people that came to the gym, and he was often asked for as a sparring partner or instructor (something he still finds odd, because he never took himself to have teaching material). So when he was called down by his boss one day, he wasn't really surprised. When the man left the office and closed the door behind him, leaving Jiro alone with someone he'd never seen before? Well, that's when he suspected something was going on. He sat and listened, discovered the stranger had seen him working out on a day when he was in a particularly bad mood, "You knocked your sparring partners out left and right. I have a proposition for you." It turned out the man wanted him to hunt mutants down on his behalf. His wife had been infected by one, killed by one, and he'd be damned if he'd let the "horrors" (as the stranger put it) run around freely. Jiro wanted to say no, he really did, but being the sort to always give others a hand when they were in need - coupled with the obscene amount of money he was given - he heard himself say yes before he could properly formulate a way to turn the man down. Jiro has hunted some since. Sort of. Mostly he's just done tracking and kept tabs on certain mutants. He hasn't been seen yet, nor has he engaged one in a fight. He knows it's inevitable, but he's relying on caution for as long as he can. ------------------------------------------------ THE PERSON BEHIND THIS WONDERFUL CHARACTER IS GENERALLY CALLED YURIKO AND SITS AT TWENTY-NINE.
